Two reasons:
1. A fully configured JNOS + BPQ system leaves me with 69K after boot. A
fully configured
JNOS with NETROM included leaves me with 58K after boot, I only have a 286
so I cannot do clever things with memory and every byte counts. There
appears to be little or no performance impact to either LAN or Radio users.
2. BPQ code is in widespread use (at least within UK) so first time users
see an interface
they are familiar with. The welcome message then points them in the
direction of the more
sophisticated tcp/ip world, hopefully they will become converts. At least
they will not be
scared off at the first hurdle.

Is it available or in development somewhere?
ISDN (euro isnd, isdn2) card in a pc (350 dollars) and a driver for
NOS to do slip or ppp.
Kind regards,
Jack

This is were to get the latest version of PM-NOS,
You can also ftp it local to your host (dg8fbv.ampr.org) on 144.650
on my ftp server g8sau.ampr.org:/pub/OS-2
Where i have the same files as on UCSD.EDU ~/os2 dir...
But you will have to remove DC0HK from your 'F*&¢%N BUD!!' list to connect to
my tcpip system. !!! ;-))
But here is the list of internet hosts in case you are not wanting to
connect to a LOCAL tcpip ham.!!

I dont have the info immeadiately to hand but I have seen descriptions
of two TNCs designed in Germany, a TNC3 and TNC4 which use some of
the motorola communications processors. If I can find the info I will
post it to the group.

I think you'll find that what you are talking about is the DSP project.
They have recently released the DSP4 modem after they redesigned their DSP3
modem because some of the parts became very hard to get.
Carl.
